Subway Commercial

While I am a HUGE fan Jimmy Johns - so delish - I found this Subway commercial hilarious. Enjoy! :)

Which do you prefer? Jimmy Johns or Subway?

Hot Humor

It's 95 degrees here in Indiana with a heat index from 111 to 116. On days like this I go outside as little as possible. I'm hoping it cools down soon, but until then, here is a little comedy about this "lovely" weather.

I don't have the source for this one. If you know it, then please let me know.

A Tweaked Potato Recipe

Hello! Recently, I came across a potato chip recipe that I fell in love with. I got it from health.com, but decided to tweak the recipe a bit. You see, it calls for sweet potatoes and I hate sweet potatoes, which caused me to use good ol' Idaho potatoes instead. Here's the recipe and such. Let me know what you think if you try it. I think it's a good alternate to regular greasy fries or potato chips.

Ingredients
3/4 pound potatoes ( 3 medium to large potatoes)
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 1/2 teaspoon chili powder (I used Cayenne Pepper)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
Ranch Dressing (optional)

Now for the directions:

Preheat your oven to 425 degrees. Next, Cut your potatoes into 1/4 inch think slices and set aside.

Combine the olive oil, chili powder (or cayenne), salt, and ground cumin to the potatoes and mix together

Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray and add a single layer of potatoes. Place in the oven and set the timer for 10 minutes. Once the ten minutes is up, take the sheet out and flip the potatoes, then put them back in the oven for another ten minutes.

Then, they're done! Take them out of the oven and let them cool for a few minutes.

Finally, you can enjoy this yummy french fry alternate with some ranch.

MMMM!! Enjoy!

ThxThxTh

Hi there! Recently, I made a purchase that I believe I will never regret - yes, I sometimes suffer from shoppers remorse. I bought a book, no surprise there, from the wonderful Amazon called thxthxthx: Thank Goodness for Everything. I don't know if any of you have heard of this little book before, but I highly recommend getting it. The author, Leah Dietrich, wrote a thank you letter everyday. The letters are serious, silly, clever, thought provoking, and just plain fun. Her letters have caused me to be more grateful for the things in life I take for granted. I've decided to share some of my favorites with you. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.

OH! P.S. She also has a Facebook page. So, you can 'Like' her if you'd like and see a new letter all the time. Enjoy, lovelies!

What are YOU thankful for?

A Twist on British Politics

Created by Dagsson

This made me giggle. I would never DARE say no to tea in England. It's simply not allowed nor accepted. If you ever go and are asked if you'd like some tea - don't worry, someone will ask - say yes. Always say yes in this situation. Not only is it practically blasphemy to not drink tea in England, but there are also numerous health benefits provided by this wonderful beverage.

Cheers!

New Musical Obsession

Music is one of my many joys in life and I'm always asking friends to introduce me to different styles and musicians. Recently, I have been introduced to a new band and my current musical obsession is Jimmy Eat World. Have you heard of them? This is one of my favorites so far. Enjoy!

    Heart Is Hard To Find

I can't compete with the clear eyes of strangers
I'm more and more replaced
By my friends each night
I can't compete
Just can't recover
How many years it's been, it's day one in my mind
That's the first step
Each time

The heart is hard to find
Yes, the heart is hard to find
It's hard to find the heart
Sometimes

I can't compete with your new-found religion
The good word seems everywhere
But good words only
I can't compete with a real education
All the f*cked up things you say
Couldn't possibly be any less help to me

The heart is hard to find
Yes, the heart is hard to find
It's hard to find the heart
Sometimes

[Instrumental break]

It's hard to find the heart
Sometimes [3x]
Sometimes

Independence Day.

Hello all! I hope you had a wonderful Fourth! My family and I didn't do much during the day, but we did end up going out for ice cream and to the park for the fireworks show. After that, we went home and lit sparklers, which I tend to be more excited about than fireworks.

I'm not sure why I posed so awkwardly haha

My cousin, Rosemary, and sister, Becca.

Becca and I lovingly call her Gertie.

So pretty.

How was your Fourth? Do you have an Independence Day traditions?
