Love & Other Drugs

"Sometimes the things you want most doesn't happen and sometimes the thing you never expect does. You meet thousands of people and none of them really touch you . . . and then you meet one person and your life is changed forever."

Wall Decor

I'm leaving for my Junior year of college soon and have been looking for some wall decor when I came across these posters and I found them hilarious. Enjoy!

All posters found here.

Bachelor Pad

Being a reality TV junkie, I am terribly excited for The Bachelor Pad to start on Monday nightt! I recently became a fan of The Bachelorette (beginning with Ali's season) and The Bachelor (beginning with Brad's season). I only watched the first few episodes of last season's Bachelor Pad, but I'm ready to watch the entire season this year! Aubrey, my closest friend, and I will be watching the show with an overwhelming amount of enthusiasm. During The Bachelorette, people thought we had a ridiculous obsession, but I believe obsession has a negative connotation. I prefer . . . highly interested in Ashley H's well being. Either way, we thoroughly enjoy each show. Hunky men, ridiculous drama, (hopeful) happy endings.

The cast (This is going to be SUCH a dramatic season!)

Subway Commercial

While I am a HUGE fan Jimmy Johns - so delish - I found this Subway commercial hilarious. Enjoy! :)

Which do you prefer? Jimmy Johns or Subway?

Hot Humor

It's 95 degrees here in Indiana with a heat index from 111 to 116. On days like this I go outside as little as possible. I'm hoping it cools down soon, but until then, here is a little comedy about this "lovely" weather.

I don't have the source for this one. If you know it, then please let me know.

A Tweaked Potato Recipe

Hello! Recently, I came across a potato chip recipe that I fell in love with. I got it from health.com, but decided to tweak the recipe a bit. You see, it calls for sweet potatoes and I hate sweet potatoes, which caused me to use good ol' Idaho potatoes instead. Here's the recipe and such. Let me know what you think if you try it. I think it's a good alternate to regular greasy fries or potato chips.

Ingredients
3/4 pound potatoes ( 3 medium to large potatoes)
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 1/2 teaspoon chili powder (I used Cayenne Pepper)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
Ranch Dressing (optional)

Now for the directions:

Preheat your oven to 425 degrees. Next, Cut your potatoes into 1/4 inch think slices and set aside.

Combine the olive oil, chili powder (or cayenne), salt, and ground cumin to the potatoes and mix together

Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray and add a single layer of potatoes. Place in the oven and set the timer for 10 minutes. Once the ten minutes is up, take the sheet out and flip the potatoes, then put them back in the oven for another ten minutes.

Then, they're done! Take them out of the oven and let them cool for a few minutes.

Finally, you can enjoy this yummy french fry alternate with some ranch.

MMMM!! Enjoy!

ThxThxTh

Hi there! Recently, I made a purchase that I believe I will never regret - yes, I sometimes suffer from shoppers remorse. I bought a book, no surprise there, from the wonderful Amazon called thxthxthx: Thank Goodness for Everything. I don't know if any of you have heard of this little book before, but I highly recommend getting it. The author, Leah Dietrich, wrote a thank you letter everyday. The letters are serious, silly, clever, thought provoking, and just plain fun. Her letters have caused me to be more grateful for the things in life I take for granted. I've decided to share some of my favorites with you. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.

OH! P.S. She also has a Facebook page. So, you can 'Like' her if you'd like and see a new letter all the time. Enjoy, lovelies!

What are YOU thankful for?

A Twist on British Politics

Created by Dagsson

This made me giggle. I would never DARE say no to tea in England. It's simply not allowed nor accepted. If you ever go and are asked if you'd like some tea - don't worry, someone will ask - say yes. Always say yes in this situation. Not only is it practically blasphemy to not drink tea in England, but there are also numerous health benefits provided by this wonderful beverage.

Cheers!

New Musical Obsession

Music is one of my many joys in life and I'm always asking friends to introduce me to different styles and musicians. Recently, I have been introduced to a new band and my current musical obsession is Jimmy Eat World. Have you heard of them? This is one of my favorites so far. Enjoy!

    Heart Is Hard To Find

I can't compete with the clear eyes of strangers
I'm more and more replaced
By my friends each night
I can't compete
Just can't recover
How many years it's been, it's day one in my mind
That's the first step
Each time

The heart is hard to find
Yes, the heart is hard to find
It's hard to find the heart
Sometimes

I can't compete with your new-found religion
The good word seems everywhere
But good words only
I can't compete with a real education
All the f*cked up things you say
Couldn't possibly be any less help to me

The heart is hard to find
Yes, the heart is hard to find
It's hard to find the heart
Sometimes

[Instrumental break]

It's hard to find the heart
Sometimes [3x]
Sometimes

Independence Day.

Hello all! I hope you had a wonderful Fourth! My family and I didn't do much during the day, but we did end up going out for ice cream and to the park for the fireworks show. After that, we went home and lit sparklers, which I tend to be more excited about than fireworks.

I'm not sure why I posed so awkwardly haha

My cousin, Rosemary, and sister, Becca.

Becca and I lovingly call her Gertie.

So pretty.

How was your Fourth? Do you have an Independence Day traditions?

Art.

Hello, darlings! I know it's been awhile since my last post, but my internet has been glitchy lately. It's been so frustrating! GAH! Oh well, it's working again and that's all that matters, right? Right!

Alright, here's the thing. I want a tattoo. The only problem is that I have a low pain tolerance and I'm a chicken. I've been perusing Google with my closest friend, Aubrey, to find some tattoo ideas because we want to get one together. I admire Aubrey because she has faced her fear and gotten three beautiful tattoos. I'm working on toughening up and getting my own pretty little tattoo. Here are my favorites so far!

Unfortunately, I don't have the correct source for any of these. If you know of it, please let me know and I'll make the necessary changes.

Do you have any tattoos? What are they of? I'd love to hear about them!

Insomnia.

On nights like this, the nights insomnia prevails, I do one of three things: (1) read, (2) watch a movie - thank you to whoever created Netflix, or (3) look at a plethora of interior design, DIY, and apartment websites. Tonight marks the night I discovered Anthropologie. While I looked at the coffee mugs, curtains, rugs, bedding, and the countless other treasures, I was transported from a world of sleeplessness to a world of designer magic. Ah, just thinking of all the beauty I found makes me smile. Side note: I realize I may sound a little silly, but excessive silliness is a price of sleep deprivation. Another price? Wishing I had more money that way I could buy all of the goodies for the apartment I don't have . . . After looking at literally every page of every category in the "at home" section, I have decided that I simply cannot go on living life without the glorious things below.

You beautiful curtain, you.

Lovely musings.

These always intrigue me.

Sweet dreams.

Spice up your life.

A cup of tea cures all problems.

Mug, meet Chai. I think you'll be the best of friends.

Lively bedding.

Finally, such wise words.

I hope you enjoyed these lovely things as much I did. I think it's time for me to get some shut eye. Sweet dreams, all.

P.S. What do you do when you can't sleep? Do you have a favorite design or DIY website?

Have a beautiful weekend!

Hello lovelies! It's finally the weekend and that means relaxation and time with friends and family. Tomorrow morning I have my dance and kickboxing class and then off to buy some flowers for the garden. (Pictures to come!) On Sunday, I'm going to an Art Museum with my mom, sister, aunt, and cousin. I'm looking forward to what already feels like a great weekend! What about you? Do you have any fun plans for the weekend?

Here are few links for your enjoyment...

Mmmmm...

This girl knows how to live a full life.

Probably the cutest onesie in the world!

Pucker up.

How would you react if you saw someone doing this?

How to get a dancer's physique.

A Summer Melody

This is one of my favorite songs! It's perfect for a beautiful summer's day. Get in the car, roll the windows down, turn this song up and enjoy the sunshine. What are some of your favorite songs?

I said I don't want to walk this earth
If I got to do it solo

See how we used to be a team
Running the streets
Ya we was living out our dream, oh
You used to be my rider
I was your provider
And now we separated in two

Oh we was burning up the block
And everybody know when we step in the spot, oh
See, we was like the dynamic duo
I'd never thought that you'd go, but you did
Yeah you did

[Pre-Chorus:]
Oh baby you left and sailed away alone (yeah, alone)
And now you got me trapped up on this island
With nowhere to get home

[Chorus:]
And I don't wanna go, no
I don't wanna go, go
I don't wanna go, no
I don't wanna go, no
I don't want to walk this earth
If I gotta do it solo (solo)
Cause I was so high
And I was so low
And I don't wanna walk around alone, solo
And I don't want to walk this earth
If I gotta do it solo (solo, solo)

You asked me pinned onto my top line
Put us together
And you have to hit the rewind
See, you give me a purpose
Now I'm getting nervous
That my heart will never sing again
Oh, when we were burning up the airways
Didn't know I was from the Virgin Islands to the U.K.
See, we was on the way to the platinum and gold
Never thought you'd go, but you did
Yeah, You did

[Pre-Chorus]
[Chorus]

S-O-L-O
I don't wanna walk S-O-L-O
I don't wanna walk S-O-L-O
Oh no (oh no)
I don't wanna walk S-O-L-O
I don't wanna walk S-O-L-O
I don't ever wanna let your love go
Whoa
I don't wanna walk S-O-L-O

[Chorus]

Have a beautiful day, lovelies!

Artsy Cozies

The older I become, the more my caffeine addiction grows, so when I found out about this project, I was ecstatic! You see, I love anything creative and that is exactly what this project is. The Cozy Project. Such a simple name and idea, yet so fun! The idea of a cute alternative to the boring brown cardboard coffee sleeves is wonderful and probably works better. Honestly, how many of you think the quarter inch cardboard actually keeps our scolding coffees and lattes from burning our hands? Not too many, I'd assume. SO.. why not get one of these?! They're so much cuter and they're easy to carry around. Here are a few of my favorites:

Have a wonderful weekend!

It's finally Friday! Hooray! I hope you all had a good week. Did anyone watch the season premiere of The Bachelorette?! I know I did and I'm so glad that Ashley H is the bachelorette. She's fantastic! Side note: I have a sick obsession with reality tv, oh well. We all have flaws.

Now, for the fun things...

This is probably one of the cutest videos I've seen.

book everyone should read.

Is this photo beautiful or what?

Check out this cute decorating idea

I couldn't have said it better myself.

Saying "Adios" to the Food Pyramid

Enjoy and have a wonderful weekend. Do you have any exciting plans for Memorial Weekend?

A Few Tid Bits.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Alabama. xo

Such a cute idea.

I'm in LOVE with this hairstyle.

A little laughter (nearly) everyday.

This blog always has such chic photos!

The delightful book I'm currently thoroughly enjoying.

I want to see this movie!

Finally, what do you think of THIS?!

I hope you have a lovely week, darlings!
This couple held their wedding . . . in a BOOKSTORE! Gasp! Being a bibliomaniac, I love this idea!

Clever Play on Words.

This made me laugh really hard. I love clever little play on words like this.

P.S. If it doesn't make sense the first time, read it out loud. That helped me. :)
